The Cast of the Lady Lyttle Murder Mysteries

You'll meet a multitude of fascinating characters as you read the Lady Lyttle Murder Mysteries, some of them more loveable than others. These are some of the ones that pop up again and again...

Lady Rosemary Lyttle

Lady Rosemary Lyttle is an unusual Edwardian lady; a keen swimmer with a strong mind and independent means. When her cold and unloving father dropped dead of a heart attack on her eighteenth birthday, she threw an huge party, sold the manor house and moved to London.
Since then, life has been as sweet as square of butter-scotch or a new hat  fresh from Paris. For the more irksome things in life she can rely upon her butler, Mr Brooks.
But Charles Brooks  is far from being an ordinary butler...

Lady Amelia Pearce

Lady Amelia Pearce was only seventeen when disaster struck the Pearce family not once, but twice. She may be young, but Lady Amelia's keen mind and forceful personality do not belie her fiery copper locks. Woe betide the fool that underestimates her temper or her dogged determination to unveil the truth.

Mr Charles Brooks

Dashing ex-soldier of the Royal Sussex Regiment, ex-valet to the Earl of March, and current butler to the unconventional Lady Lyttle, there is a lot more to Charles Brooks than meets the eye. Half of Lady Rosemary's friends have already attempted to steal him away from her and the rest would like to try.
Part Jeeves, part Sherlock Holmes, Brooks treads a delicate path between  servant and protector as his Lady's insatiable curiosity leads them both into all kinds of tricky situations.
Brooks would be the perfect butler, if only he could let go of the nightmares in his past...

Gadders and Jellybean

Larger than life Bostonian George "Gadders" Gardener and the glamourous Joyce "Jellybean" Astor are both members of the extravagant Rhode Island Set. Their lives are gilded, but neither one is afraid to befriend an English aristocrat down on their luck.
With their plucky American determination, these two are both good friends to have by your side in a crisis, particularly Jellybean who knows all kinds of
people darling.

Binky

Miss Polly Arkwright

Cousin of the Earl of March, 'Binky' Bartholomew Fortescue and Lady Lyttle have known each other since they were both unhappy children.
It was Binky who recommended Rosemary take on his cousin's exceptionally handsome valet, Brooks, as her new butler. He knew they would get on, who could fail to be impressed by the dashing Charles Brooks?
Binky and Rosemary adore each other, but no-one expects wedding bells- Binky is the kind of chap who is most unlikely to marry.

Conte Victor & Roberto Di Arenella

The dashing father and son are descended from Napolitan royalty, but they seem to have a dark connection to the Sicilian Brotherhood… Nothing is as it seems in Italy; the pair are certainly hospitable, but can they be trusted?
Parlour maid in the unlucky Pearce household, stoic Yorkshire lass Polly leaves that sinking ship and follows her Mistress, Lady Amelia, to Lady Rosemary's Thameside mansion. She hopes life will  settle down, but with Lady Lyttle in charge, nothing could be futher from the truth.

Candice Molineux

Fiesty and French and not afraid to speak her mind Candice is the only lady's maid who has ever been able to tame Lady Lyttle's hair. She also books the best theatre seats and fights like a cat to find her mistress the latest French fashions. Trouble is she ruffles everyone else's feathers…Candice Molineux will never be tamed, but will she go too far one day?
